GUIDELINES
The Johnstone Fund for New Music advances the performance of new music for the benefit of the Central Ohio community.
Applications should consist of a one-page letter describing the project, including dates, times, and location of performances, project budget, and the amount requested. We encourage applicants to consider the following values held by the Johnstone Fund for New Music:
Progressive energy, well-executed programming, new music, show length, fair treatment of performers and composers, a concern for culture, transformation of the art form and audience, and the growth of Central Ohio community artists and work.
Applicants should also consider the following guidelines of the Fund:
The funding range for proposals to the Johnstone Fund for New Music is generally $500 - $7,500, though larger requests may be considered. Applications should be submitted in the quarterly timeframe outlined below with the proposed event taking place at least six months after the selected submission deadline.

- Programs should challenge listeners and help build the audience for new music in Central Ohio.
- Performances should be available to anyone and, if possible, free.
- Requests should be submitted six months in advance of performances.
- Applicants should be 501(c)(3) organizations or musicians using fiscal agents.
